Hi... i m an Indian citizen wth 10 year Canadian visitor visa. I want my son to get admitted in Edmonton public schools next year i.e. In 8 th grade. He will be staying wth my parents n they act as his custodians. He already has 5 year visitor visa so is this possible tht he can get acceptance letter from Edmonton public schools as smeone told me tht Canadian schools don't get children admitted before 10 th grade. Pls help

Others can comment given not heard about the restriction but that does not mean it does or does not exist. There is nothing stated on the Edmonton schools international page so maybe you need to contact them. Assume you are aware about international fees and probable need for a study permit ?

Thx for ur reply. Yes I knw everything abt the fee n documents require to apply for a acceptance letter. From ur reply it seems tht u r also nt sure if they accept Indian students at this stage.

Yes schools admit children at any age. It is just not as common especially at schools that don't offer boarding. Your son will obviously need to a student visa before confirming that he can attend. He will also need health insurance and will have to pay if he needs non-emergency care.

Your son needs a study permit to attend school. You will also need to pay feels in order for him to attend school. It will cost approximately $14K per year for him to attend public school - more for private school.

I am a PR holder of Canada and wanted my niece who is 16 years old. My brother who got divorced 5 years back, died last month. No one is India to take care of her. Moreover, she is a thalassemia major and getting blood transfusion every month. Please guide me how should I approach schools for her schooling visa

You might be facing medical inadmissability with her issues. You might want to research associated treatment costs in Canada before you get to far along in the process.

You may also have guardianship issues if her mother is alive. It's also unusual for the courts in India to have granted custody of a minor girl child to her father and not to her mother
