School Attendance Rights and Obligation in Ontario

I have just applied for citizenship for my family. We have been living in Canada since 2012 (qualified for citizenship as we have completed 4 years in Canada as Permanent Residents).

Now, I intend to travel overseas for 3 months with my wife and son. I've been told that the school will strike of my child's name and registration (Halton Region) since he will be gone for more than 3 weeks. He is 6 years old and in grade 1.

Also that the school/Halton Board will inform the citizenship/CIC regarding my child's absence. I do not see the correlation but any feedback would be much appreciated.

It's up to you. Your son can go to other catchment school or private school when he returns.

If you leave Canada for an extended period of time during the citizenship process and CIC finds out, this can result in RQ and substantially delay the citizenship process.

I am self-employed and will continue to report monthly income and file taxes as usual in Canada.

I don't have issues with accessing letters/mail from CIC and can travel instantly for taking tests etc.

I am only worried about my child's long absence from school and if the school board/ministry will inform CIC which may lead to a RQ or something.
