Since same-sex marriage is legal in Canada, it is treated like any other Canadian marriage. Marrying a Canadian does not automatically entitle the non-Canadian to residency in Canada. They will need to go through the same immigration process (ie sponsorship under the family class, or another immigration category) much like a heterosexual marriage if they want to immigrate to Canada.
If you're visa exempt then you can visit Canada on your passport alone. If you're from a non-visa exempt country then you will need to apply for a tourist visa.
