Hi All,
I can't believe it, but I'm just awaiting one more document from my partner and ready to submit our application package!
I was looking at the fee payment online and wondering. What is the harm in paying the RPRF fees a bit later? I finish my schooling in one month and will be back in the work force. My Visa bill would appreciate not carrying that extra $500 or so for the next two months. Do you think it would delay my application any further if I paid that fee in 2 months time?
From what I understand, not paying the RPRF actually creates a delay in your file.. i.e longer processing time..but I am not 100% sure, maybe someone else can chip in!
Oh, thanks! I hope not.. Assuming that our app. will take at least 4 months I was hoping I had a few months leeway.. of course if it caused any delay it would be bad. Also his medical expires in June so I assume that they would probably request a new one in a few months.

So hypothetically, what you guys are saying is that if my application takes at least 4 months and I paid the RPRF fees 2 months in, it could still cause a delay.

Yes - there would likely still be at least some delay because at some point they will have to stop processing your file to go looking for your payment and match your file with the payment receipt.
The guide states that paying all fees at once will facilitate processing...so of course, if you have the money, pay the $1040 at once. I think this also shows your commitment.
I'd pay $2080 if it helped to speed things along...such a small amount of money like that is totally worth it...you can't put a price on this kind of undertaking...
Pay the fee upfront if you can! We DID NOT and a letter came in December asking for us to pay it. Paid it that day online. April 9th and we are still waiting........
I agree, It took me a year for us to get the money together, but it was so worth it. By the time we were ready to file, we had the entire thing, and I really believe it helped speed along our app. I would strongly urge you to pay upfront.
