Right of Permanent Residence Fee Requested - What stage is my application at?

Hello everyone,

I have applied with the outland process for spousal sponsorship to be processed in America. The buffalo office closed down so it was sent on January 25th to the Ottawa processing centre after we my sponsor was approved. I have not received any communication form them until now so I thought that they would have been processing it over the last 4 months (even though the status remained "received").

I did just get an email asking me to pay the $490 right of residence fee. Does anyone know if this means that they are finished processing my application and I just need to pay this and I will finally have it or does it mean that they are just now opening my application after having it for 4 months?

Any information would be appreciated.

One person from the December applicants thread, who also is under the Ottawa office has received the same message. Only, it also includes a note to send a copy of the passport's bio-page. Do you also have that or, a note just asking the RRPF?

Just a note asking for the RPRF.

@ demiggles, it depends. Some people received PPR 4months after RPRF payment while for some other people it takes sometime. For example, I received request to pay the RPRF from Buffalo in Jan 2012 which i paid immediately but i received passport request from Los Angeles in June 2013. You would only know that you are getting to the end of the process when your application changes to IN-PROCESS (After in-process it takes about 3-6months) to receive PPR. Please, just hang in there you will soon get done. Stay blessed. For your reference see my timeline below

Passport Request by LA= May 2013
Passport got back to my Toronto apartment= June 24, 2013
Landed at the Border athe Border close to Oakville= June 25, 2013
