I recently provided my Brazilian boyfriend with my passport information and signed a letter of invitation so that he could apply for a visitor's visa to come see me. However, I have discovered that I do not know him as well as I thought I did (or his secret Brazilian girlfriend) and would like to revoke my invitation. I am unsure whether or not he has sent the invitation in to be processed. Also, if he does come, in what capacity am I legally responsible for him? I want to protect myself from any problems in the future if he decides to "use me" to visit Canada.
Hi,
You can email the visa office that's responsible for processing his TRV application.... stating that you no longer intend to host him. You must give his complete name, date of birth, his passport details, current address when you write to the visa office + your details as the host.
If he does come to Canada, you are not legally responsible for him in any way. An invitation letter does not make you legally responsible.
If he has been issued a TRV, there's nothing you can do to stop him from coming to Canada
Cheers

Contact IRCC via webform and indicate that you are no longer in support of inviting the friend of family you submitted the letter for.
