Returning Passport

Hi,

I just got my passport request from Buffalo visa office through email today. I am planning to mail them my passport but I am concerning how soon they will return my passport.

I need to use my passport from Dec 22 to Dec 26. If I mail my passport to Buffalo visa office tomorrow, will I likely get my passport back before Dec 22?

Normal time for the passport to return is 2 weeks from the day you send it.

exactly 2 weeks in my case, and I use Fedex to send and receive my passport. You can track the shippment so you know if your passport is on the way back home.

I didn't know they deal with Fed-ex too. I just sent it via Canada post registered mail which is still fast and I have a tracking number too. So, hopefully things will be smooth!

Mine was 10 days, so I think you will get it back by Dec 22

Thank you guys so much for the replys!!

I sent my passport with Canada Post Priority because the UPS store told me that CIC doesn't deal with courier. I doubted he was right, but I didn't want to take any chance.

It's good to know that most people get their passport back quickly. So glad that I did not buy the flight tickets to Buffalo.

Could you tell me which visa office you sent your passport to?
I am sending my to Buffalo. Almost 10 days has gone by and I am still waiting for my passport.
I need my passport badly cause I bought my flight tickets already for Dec 22.

Different visa offices have different polices. Buffalo, for example, does not deal with anything else than Canada Post or US Post.
