Prior to my spouse getting her PR, we were refused boarding at the airport to Canada on several occasions without a return ticket, even with her frequent travel to Canada and having never overstayed. The airline is responsible for your return if her entry is refused, so they ensure that they won't be covering the cost. Had to buy tickets before they would let us board with her visa and that's a pain while you stand in line.......so yes, buy a return ticket.
Should we buy a separate ticket for her return since we already bought a one way ticket.
