I have to extend my student visa as I still have not completed my studies due to health issues. Do I have to retake my ielts exam to extend my visa.

I have to extend my student visa as I still have not completed my studies due to health issues. Do I have to retake my ielts exam to extend my visa.
So as of now my study permit, student visa and ielts have expired this year in March. Shall I directly proceed with applying for a visa and study permit extension without writing ielts again. I'm just scared if they will reject my application.
