Hi,my work permit will expire next wk and my lmia application for my new employer not yet send bcos still completing the papers,my question is that can I apply restoration alone?and if I already have the lmia result can I apply for work permit alone?pls help im so nervous right now.thank you

Hi there, You must apply to restore within the 90 day period even if it is as a visitor. I was in the same boat. My LMIA did not come back within 90 days, and CIC advised I needed to restore status in any way possible.

You can have a pending LMIA and visitor status application at the same time. You must do something within 90 days!!!

In my case, I was granted visitor status, but my LMIA got rejected. So I am still a visitor, and am still waiting on my PR.

Apply now to change your status to visitor. That way, you will not go out of status and won't have to apply for Restoration.

I applied for restoration of status as a worker on Feb 28th, 2016. Is there anyone who applied in February 2016 like me? Does anyone know how long would I have to wait for? I am hoping to get it approved by June or July.

Hi mcu257 I didn't hear anything yet about my restoration application this may it's been 2mons but my lmia still on process..what will I do if it is approve by God's grace do I need to submit again or just inform them about it..hoping for the best thank you
