I applied for the open work permit November 2022 instead of an extension of my PGWP that was expiring in February 2023. I received the rejection letter in April 2023 giving me a 90 day grace period with which I could apply for the correct work permit. I immediately applied for a PGWP extension in April but failed to apply for restoration of status as well. I also worked for 3 weeks until I found out that I was not on an implied status just because I submitted my application, so I was working illegally. Now I need to apply for a restoration, how would me this affect me applying for restoration for my work permit and how can I fix this?

Was your PGWP not issued for the full duration you were entitled too? Unless there's a basis for extension, it will most likely be refused again. Being out of status and working without authorization only makes it worse so it won't be a surprise if next refusal follows with a removal order. Start exploring PR pathways immediately if you don't have a valid basis for WP extension.

I was not issued the full duration of my PGWP. I did four years of full time undergrad degree but was only given a year and the half work permit as my passport expired.

I have applied for the PGWP and have gotten a temporary application number, but I didn't apply to restore my status because I didn't know I had to do that. I also worked part time for 3 weeks during this period and I was wondering how that would affect my work permit application.
