My lawyer just told me now that I can't claim asylum since my passport is not with me but I can appeal not to leave to buy more time and during the process of appeal I can apply for emergency work permit

What are you planning on appealing? What will be your argument for that appeal?

Keep in mind that you worked illegally and were caught.
