Hello everyone.. I need your advice please....

I became a permanent resident in canada on January 2014. Left Canada on November 2014 for a job outside the country. I have been spending most of the time abroad for work and able to spend only one month every year to stay in canada. Because of the job I was not able to complete the 730days required to be physically present in canada.

My PR card expires on January 2019 and I wanted to finally settle in Canada. If I quit my job and finally stayed in Canada for good, will there be any chances I could get my PR card renewed even if I have not met 730days in the 5year period I was given the chance to be a permanent resident in Canada?

I am planning to quit the job and finally settle down in Canada but I am worried that they may refuse to renew my residence card and ask me to leave the country and end up losing my job and permanent residence status at once.

Applying to renew your PR card if you are not in compliance with the Residency Obligations is a recipe for disaster. You will need to wait until you are back in Canada and in compliance again.

After you return to Canada, stay two years then apply your PR card renewal will be fine. Don't do this if you still don't meet RO requirement. And it's not 100% sure if you will not be reported for your entering. There is RISK. The best way is that if you could find a way to keep your job until you enter Canada successfully without a report.
