My application was sent back because the Online residence Calculator printout was not signed and dated. Can anyone please give me advice if I need to
1. sign with the current date on the returned printout, or
2. recalculate the Online residence Calculator with current date, or
3. re-fill the entire application from scratch

Sign and date the application form with the signature you currently use on other official documents.
Note. Your application will be returned to you if:
the form is not signed and dated, stale-dated (dated more than 90 days before CIC receives it),
post-dated (dated into the future).
I have highlighted one point for you mentioned above.
I spoke to CIC and they said application returned is application never received so you can either send the old application by signing it or send completely new application with recalculated online calculator.
Make sure all forms those are signed have same date.
Also, check online if the forms have changed and compare it to your old application. If yes, use the new forms else you application might be returned back to you.
