Hi guys, I am currently in Canada on a tourist visa and I am interested in the caregiver program. I have a niece that is 5 years old, and i have been taking care of her when her parents go to work. I was wondering if my sister(the mother) could issue me a job offer. I have all the other requirements. Thanks

Doesn’t matter if you don’t get paid .
It’s still illegal work .
If you weren’t doing it then they’d being paying someone to sit the kids .
And if they weren’t having anyone do the work prior to you being here , then you aren’t needed . It’s a job of convenience.
People on “ tourist visas “ don’t take care of children .
Tourist visas aren’t to be used for this reason , and you’ve misrepresented on what you’d be doing in Canada
Guaranteed that if you told immigration you’d be taking care of children while you’re here on your “ tourist visa “ it would have been denied
I've learned recently that Canada considers you are doing "illegal work" by coming to Canada on a visitor visa and doing something that other people could be doing for money. Put in another way, if you didn't come to Canada, your family would have to hire (and pay) someone to take care of them, so you're taking away someone's opportunity to work. I understand the though of "helping your own family", but that's the way Canada sees it.
