Requested Change of Visa Office for printing Visa

Hi friends.
I received my ppr 3weeks ago but my husband is in india so I emailed cic to arrange for his visa at new delhi. I got reply for him within 2 week. He is in chandigarh and is asked to send his passport to new delhi. My question is how he should submit his passport to new delhi? I mean he should courier it or should submit in person? Also how should he pay fees?

Just wondering if you guys got visa office change mail from Ottawa or your respective local consulate.

I had requested for a change of visa office to London on 15th May , but am still to get a response from CPC-Ottawa.

Also contacted London embassy, but they refused to do anything as the application had been processed in another visa office and asked me to send mails to CPC-Ottawa.

Officially you should wait for the response from Ottawa. But in my case local consulate was cooperative or may be they can have access to our files , have no idea. But the fact is that I have sent request first to Ottawa, but because there are delays in reply, i also wrote to local consulate. I received request of passport from consulate and after 2 days Ottawa officially confirms that I can send my passport to another office.

In my opinion you have to request Ottawa, but meanwhile you can contact local office.

Hi irisuppal,

Passport has to be submitted through nearest VFS office. I think there is one in Chandigarh.They will collect the fees and send your passports to New Delhi office.

Hi Kochumol,

I got the mail from local visa office only (Delhi.) . You should send a reminder ( followup email ) mentioning the number of days elapsed . I am not sure why London office have refused to help. Ideally they should respond. Response from Ottawa office is getting delayed due to whatsoever reasons.

It took 20 days for me. So be positive, you may receive any time from now.

I got my PPR today. i sent them a counter email within half hour asking them to change my visa office to new delhi.
Wanted to get your opinion , Till what time whould i wait for thier response and when should i send them reminder email and also an email to the local delhi consualte as well..???

It might takes long until you get response from Canadian processing office. Also try to contact Delhi office. In my case it took 2 weeks, but the local consulate was very responsive, and they ask my passport a few days before Ottawa replied me.

Send a reminder email to Delhi Immigration(delhi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca) after 2 weeks. You need to continue the original mail thread. Mention clearly the number of days elapsed since you sent the request for change of VO.They will respond .

A sure shot way of accelerating this process is that you send an email to the Delhi Consulate (delhi-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca) as soon as possible.
You necessarily do not need to wait for 2 weeks.

I got my ready for visa email from Ottawa on 10th June. I emailed them back on the same day to change my visa office to new delhi.
Then on 12th june, In continuance to the same email communication i emailed the delhi consulate, that i have emailed CPC and want to get my visas printed in new delhi.
And Today i got an email from delhi consulate with an attachment letter asking me to submit passports in New delhi

So i guess i Jump-started my case by being a bit extra forthcoming .
