Request for fingerprints to continue with the application

Has anyone ever received a request for fingerprints to continue with the applications? They say it’s required to ensure I’m not a criminal or whatever (something to do with Section 21 and 22).

it’s kind of annoying to have to do these extra chores and spend more money.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

It's happens to a lot of people. Very common request it is. Cost for the same is borne by the applicant.

Thank you for your reply. I got a bit alarmed but this is a bit relieving. Unfortunate that I’ll need to spend more on this but it can’t be avoided. Thanks again.

Check the tracker spreadsheet for 2024, they have a section tracking FP request. Your background completion depends on it.

Anybody with experience in providing fingerprints? If I've understood the letter correctly, the process might be faster if I submit it directly with RCMP but I can't seem to find any RCMP centers where I can provide fingerprints. Only agencies.

P.S. I'm in Downtown Toronto
