It all depends on what kind of query or information you are passing to CPC-Ottawa. I got response within 24 hours before 2 days(Sorry, I am not willing to share what was that about so not mentioning it in detail.)
 
I got a response in less than 24 hours, but I had responded to an email originally sent by them. Common sense would say that it may take a little longer for email conversations initiated by an applicant, as opposed to initiated by the CIC. But make sure you put your UCI in the subject line.
