rental lease from landlord

In our application I am providing our rental lease from our landlord to prove that we lived together. Now here in Mexico where we live our landlord actually did not have a lease for us so I just downloaded a simple rental lease from the internet and he agreed to sign it. Will this be ok? To make it more believable should I download one in spanish and get it translated to english?

I did same kinda of way for my husband work (in Canada)
his boss asked us to write a letter then he read and signed it.

make sure you and your partner name on it and when you guys start to rent together etc

p.s if your landlord reads/speaks English and knows what she/he signs for, should be ok.
