Your situation is not clear from this post and your other post.
- Are you a landed PR? or Have you just been approved and haven't landed yet?
- Did you get married before or after landing?
Please answer the above questions first with the exact dates of PR approval, marriage, landing, child(s) date of birth.
What do you mean your wife and child's names are not on the application? Did you declare them on your own PR application?
If not, then you are thinking the right direction by just let your COPR expire and not landing (you are not a PR, until you land in Canada, so you cannot renounce your PR, since you are not) and reapply. Because if you landed by not declaring them, you are looking at misrepresentation charge and you probably can never sponsor your wife and your child.
I believe that you can reapply immediately, after your COPR expeired (and you probably need to send IRCC an explanation letter to tell them why, because your circumstances of not landing is abnormal)
Why not instead tell your VO or CIC to add them and they will process and reissue new COPR and Visa if all well.
If you did not mention that you are married and have child in your currunt application at all renounce wont help as they will still ask you about those facts as they keep all old files forever so you misrepresented already and in this case you should ask lawer before any action renounce or new application wont help much in your case.
If they are already in your application you have two choices to ask VO to issue them visas and this will prolong your travel a bit but will be shorter than new application , or to sponsor them after Landing .
My question to you is why you did not add them in the currunt application ?
did you marry and become father during the process before getting the COPR if so ok and not renounce just tell the VO they will tell you how to fix to go woith them.
If you was married and have child but hide this all the way from begining so nothing much you can do as is misrepresntion as why you apply as single while you are not . this alone enough to revoke your status even if you are in Canada and can lose Citiznship even after you get it .
