Renewing passport in the middle of processing

My husband's passport expires before his medical so we want to renew it. Will this mess up his application? I know they will give him a new passport number so it won't match up with the application info. What should we do? Thank you!

I renewed my passport in the middle of the process as well.... I just sent them a copy of my new passport... for sure they will update your file.

So I just mail a photocopy of the new passport page to the VO? Can I email them a scanned copy instead?

Yes - submit it through the case specific enquiry. Try to do it sooner rather than later so you're not rushing when you get the PPR.

I agree!! Thanks for your help. He will get his passport renewed asap. It can be done in one day in California. A Mexican passport too, lol.

Speaking of passports, why is it that Canadian passports are only valid for 5 years? My wife's Chinese passport is valid for 10 years. She renewed it in 2010 and it expires in 2020. Makes more sense....

Just also piping in to say I recently renewed my passport and I just sent them an email (through the case specific enquiry form) with a scan of my new passport as an attachment. They even replied they had received it and it would be put with my file.

I know a friend who was in a similar situation..like canadiana has mentioned just send in your new passport copy and they will update it in their system.

Why do you think it may be necessary? What is in your old passport?

Because Canadian and other nationalities who has 5 years of expires for their passports, there faces changes within the 5 years because of the enviornment they are living in while chiness people's faces have no difference even after the 10 years

Dear becoz previous passport number have mentioned in the new one
