Renewing expired PR card

My PR card expired 4 years ago after landing in Toronto. Can I enter Canada with the PR through land border with the hope of renewing it?

Sure you can try but assuming you have failed the residency obligation the chances of being reported leading to your PR status being revoked are high. If not reported you will need to stay put for 2 plus years and not try renewing your card until then else also run risk of being reported through the renewal. As a PR you would be entitled to enter the country regardless even if reported which would be subject to appeal.
