Hi,

I would appreciate if anyone can help me on my below queries related to PR renewal:

1. Our PR will expire in Feb 2016 and my family is already living in Canada for over a year now and they will complete 2 years in November this year. As I understand, it takes about 6 months to get the PR renewed and if we wait till end of Nov to apply for renewal when my family completes two years, they wont be able to travel outside of Canada. If I submit PR renewal application in June this year , will Canada Immigration renew the PR or we wait to complete two years then apply?

2. I haven't lived in Canada so far, however I plan to move soon. However, I wont be able to complete two years before my PR expires in Feb 2016. Is it advisable to submit my PR renewal application along with rest of the family? I have been visiting Canada frequently and will be able to provide proofs that I was out of the country for business. Also, house contract etc is on my name.

3. Is it mandatory to have valid PR to be able to work for any corporate in Canada? I am discussing a position with a major bank and not sure about the future employment once PR gets expired next year.

I would really appreciate help on the above

Thanks

1. They can't apply for a new PR card until they meet the 730 day residency requirement. They absolutely need to wait until November. If they apply early, they will have issues keeping their PR status.
2. Same as above. You can't apply until you meet the 730 day requirement.
3. No - it's not mandatory to have a valid PR card.
