Renewal of passport during PR application process

Hi everyone,

I have sent the PR application for my husband, which arrived on February 9th. The application is still awaiting to be processed. My husband's passport use expiring this coming July and we want to renew it as soon as possible as we would like to meet each other in Europe during the summer months. Is it advisable to renew the passport now or when the application for sponsorship is being reviewed our when my husband's application is sent to the New Delhi office?

it's always best to renew it as soon as possible. once you have SA and the new passport, all you will need to do is submit a photocopy of the bio page to the appropriate visa office.

Should we wait until our application is sent to the relevant visa office? What do you mean by SA?

yes.
sa means sponsor approval. when the sponsor receives the letter confirming eligibility, it will have instructions about contacting your visa office. that is when/where you can send it.

You can renew it now and then inform CIC once your app has been transferred to your VO.
