Renewal of passport and PRTD

Hi.

Now i have done my first landing in August 2019 and hence i am a permanent resident of canada. However as i was in canada only for 10 days i didnt receive the PR card before i left from canada. Now i was told that it is ok because once i am in India i can apply for a PRTD and then i can travel to canada. Now i need to travel to canada in april and hence i decided to apply for a PRTD . I then realised that my passport expires in march 2020. Hence i now will first apply for renewal of my passport and then I shall apply for my PRTD. My question is that do i need to inform canada immigration about the fact that i am renewing my passport and do i need to give them my new passport details when i receive my new passport? I ask this because on my PR papers my passport no is the passport that will expire in March. Further if i need to update them how do i do it?

1. No need to inform CIC because they don't need the information. Note you need the new passport to apply for the PRTD.
