Hello There,

My name is Akshada Shirodkar (Ash),

I studied in London Ontario in 2012 (post grad marketing) for 1 yr and then applied for my Post grad work permit. As soon as I finished my course I got a job as Restaurant Manager for Best Western In British Columbia. I worked there from Jan to October. I came down to Toronto as my extended family is here and due to some personal reason I had to come down here. I looked out for a job and finally got one as Restaurant manager in one of the reputed restaurant brands of Canada in Toronto which commences from January end.
Now here is my concern, My visa expires in March 2014, I already have 10 months of managerial experience in hand and I am short of 2 months of experience to apply for my PR through the CEC (Canadian experience class) . I wanted to know if there is any way I can apply for an extension of my open work permit as my new job starts in Jan end and I need some more time so I can apply for my PR. Besides I am a hotel management grad from India and have 4 to 5 years of hotel experience from India.

Thank you in Advance.

Regards
Ash

Your going to need a PGWP LMO in order to keep working. You can't renew a post grad work permit and TBH your going to be really pushed for time.
Once you have acknowledgement of receipt for your CEC application you can apply for a bridging open work permit if your visa expires within 4 months but even if you apply to CEC asap your not going to get an acknowledgement from CIC until May/June at the earliest

If your employer applies within the time frame (90 days) before your PGWP expires then they don't need to advise for the LMO

Here's a really useful artical to help you out

OMG Tee1! You have no idea how much your post helped me. I could have just gone ahead after reading your post, but I thought, I should at least let you know. THANKS!

restaurant manager is not a part of federal skilled worker visa (pr ) anymore.

OP is asking about CEC - not FSW. Restaurant Manager is on the list for CEC provided you have 1 year of experience in Canada.
