Renewal of expired open work permit

Hi,
My spouse's open work permit has got expired in May as passport got expired. He got his pass port renewed. What is the procedure to renew the open work permit for my spouse?

Do we need to apply like a fresh Open work permit application ? or there is some other procedure for that? Please help me.

hi,

your spouse need to apply for a restoration of status since his work permit already expired(he is now out of status)and not allowed to work until a new work permit is granted.
he needs to apply to restore his status within 90 days of his work permit expiry date,if the 90 days period already passed he has to leave canada immediatly and apply from outside.

Even though his open work permit expired, he has a valid visitor record extended till May 2015. I have a skilled worker WP which also expires in 2015.

Could you please provide me the process and document to apply for restoration of his open work permit.
