Hi,

Need to know the procedure for the renewal of the PR. Like how many years are mandatory for renewal of PR out of 5 years.

A quick google will take you here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp and here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#appendixA

Basically you need to spend a minimum of 2 years out of every 5 years in Canada to not have potential issues with PR status or renewing PR card. PR cards expire but PR status never expires, it can only be revoked or renounced.
