Hello everyone, I have a question for me it's very important please help me:
I came to Canada in August 2013 to study a Post Grad Diploma of One Year, my Husband comes too accompanying me, so We applied for an Open Work Permit for him.
With that OPW my husband got a job (permanent and full time) which now is currently working there. August it's coming so it´s time for me to apply for an Post Graduate Work Permit (because a finished my studies here), the question is... Does my husband can renew his Open Work Permit in order to continue his work here? it's easy? he needs a LMO? because he is working with that company for 6 months and the company wants to retain him on their crew.
Or we have to apply together again (I for an Post Grad Work Permit and he for an Open Work Permit)?, Now I don't have a job, I'm a looking for one, but we wish at least he can continue works after August. thanks and help me please.

Who applies for the LMO the employer or the employee?, With a LMO yo get a "Work Permit" or you could extend the "Open Work Permit"??? and with the LMO yo have to work only for that employer or then yo can look for a better job using the same LMO? or it's no possible?
LMO is processed by labour department and has to be filled by the employer, BTW the process has undergone changes,

LMO is now called LMIA, Labour Market Impact Assessment, and is much harder for an employer to get since the recent program overhaul. If his employer obtains a positive LMIA, your husband will be issued a closed work permit and only be allowed to work for that employer. LMIAs are not transferable to other jobs or employers.
He cannot apply for an OWP along with your PGWP. You must first obtain your PGWP and get a NOC 0, A or B job before he qualifies for an OWP.
