Remarrying Out Side Canada before Divorce Order(Canada) !

Asking on behalf of someone. Is it possible for a Canadian Citizen to re-marry outside Canada before the divorce order in Canada ? Like in Bangaldesh re-marrying doesn't require to wait one year for seperation. You can re-marry just after a month. So will a foreign marriage will be considered in Canada or one has to wait for divorce order in Canada ?

I think this person would still be considered married to their current spouse until the divorce is finalized. So if this person were to re-marry outside Canada before the divorce has been finalized, this person would be committing bigamy, which is a federal crime under Criminal Code 290(1)(b).

No - not possible. As said above, this is bigamy.

The foreign marriage will not be recognized in Canada or by IRCC.

The divorce must be final before the individual remarries.
