Related to GIC

Dear sir/madam,

I have a doubt about GIC. First, Is it compulsory to open GIC account in Scotia Bank? Second, which bank's GIC are acceptable for canada student visa?

You have 2 options either get a student loan or open a GIC.
For GIC , you have two bank options ,
Scotiabank
ICICI Bank in Canada
But preferred option is Scotiabank .

OKay! I have SBI Loan. But the bank said me that SBI did not send money to scotia bank for GIC. Due to new circular and I read. SBI send money into SBI CANADA Bank for GIC. So I confuse what I do. Please help me.!

Hi bro . Ask them if i send money to SBI CANADA Bank , then in how much time will i get certificate . Before sending money clear all your doubts.
If you send money to Scotiabank , Gic comes within 15 days if you do everything correctly.
It's ok if you open GIC account with SBI but make sure you do all the things correctly .

Make sure they give you a GIC Certificate that you can use in your visa application.

No problem.. actually if you had paid through scotiabank you would need to pay 10200CAD , out of which 200CAD are charges of banks etc. The final amount of GIC would have been 10000CAD only.
Ask SBI that what is the amount of GIC.. I think 100CAD are charges of SBI. and you will get GIC of 10000CAD , but i suggest you asking them first.

I'm not sure, but i think i have read on official site that gic only from icici or scotia bank is acceptable.
