Regd Visit Visa Extension while PR is Pending

Hi,

Me and my wife are PR but my baby who is 8 months was born in US, now we have moved to Canada Permanently and have applied the PR for my Baby and the Sponsorship approval is done and now its on the second stage where application is moved to CPP Ottawa my question is -
While applying for the extension of Visit visa for my baby should I mention that his PR application is pending? why I am asking this is will this have any -ve or +ve affect on his application?

Yes - mention that the PR is pending, and add the sponsorship approval to the extension request, it will be a positive point - they know that you are doing everything you can do have a status for your baby, and you can ask for 10 months for example ( if Ottawa is quoted at 10 months), telling them that you need to cover the time for Ottawa to process the PR request. It's the best reason to get an extension, so it's positive for sure.

I was filling the application for Extension of visit visa for my baby(9months), and there is a field which ask Purpose of Visit - Options are Business, Tourism, Study,Other what should I select here any idea any one PLEASE HELP ASAP

yes you can do that, or you can probably choose "tourism" as well, as technically your baby will be allowed in as a "tourist" as he has a US passport. Don't worry too much about it - with the papers to explain the situation, CIC will know what you need and probably give the extension right away, as you have applied for PR already and got the first stage.

I sent the application yesterday, one more query will CIC send me any acknowledgement or any receipt that they received my application? any idea any body?

I don't know, but I highly doubt it. CIC isn't exactly "communicative." I applied for my extension online. The first and only correspondence I received from CIC was the certificate showing my extended temporary residence permit, received about a month and a half after I applied.

CIC won't send you anything until you get the extension letter. Now you just have to wait, but because you have applied for the extension before the expiry of the visa, your baby has now implied status even if the visa is expired, so no worries!
