Hello,

My wife is a Canadian citizen and we are at the early stage of applying for the spousal sponsorship visa.
I currently resides in Sri lanka (home country) for more that a year and before that i was in Australia on a temperately work visa for 18 months. I was also in uk for five years after turning 18 Doing my bachelors and masters. Do i have to have the police certificates from all three countries?
I have the police certificate from uk which i obtained in 2016 and i did not visit uk after. Do i have to get uk police certificate again since its 2019 now?

thank you

As I understand it, you need to obtain the police check from your home country but depending on where you're staying outside the country and for how long you might need one from there also.
As for the age of the police check, they have to be current and the 3rd party entity that carries out the check if applicable will transmit the results to the visa office with the reference numbers you're given after you receive your AOR notice. Some countries require you to go to the police directly and they supply the results to you and you transmit them (in English or French only) through the system.

You need to take police certificate from all the countries you stayed more than 6 months after you turned 18. Also it should be up to date. Some police report valid for six months and some for 1 year.
