regarding my husband's open work permit

I am Indian citizen studying in Canada. I got married in India after I got my study visa and before I came to Canada. its been more than a year now. I got the study visa on 1 Feb 2016, got married on 12 march 2016, came to Canada on 23 march 2016. I had applied for my husband's open work permit on 26 January 2017 but it got refused :'(. The reason was that I didn't inform about my marriage to high commission. Now I want to change my passport and add my spouse name on it. Can anybody tell the procedure of adding spouse name on Indian passport in Canada? and how can I inform to the high commission about my marriage?

Consulate General of India is going to help u here. i really don't know the procedure, but yes any passport renewals/ changes are done by them.
