REGARDING EDUCATIONAL GAP

I am suraj. Myself from India. I am trying to get into Canada for my undergraduate education at Cape Breton university,Nova Scotia. Now my issue is regarding VISA. I am having year gap.
I completed my calss 12th with 90% marks in 2014. After that I prepared for national competitive exam for an year for getting into IIT,the most celebrated institute of India. I got into the college very next year by cracking the entrance examination. But due to health issues I had to skip college. I applied for portugal Visa and it got rejected. Happy if I could get any help from here. Thank you.

Bro 1 year gap is acceptable it's not counted as gap if you have one year gap
