Regarding background check -- Need clairification

Hi

I applied for Canada PR under express entry. On Oct 12, I was requested to submit my Biometrics. Now (from Oct 17) my application status shows -

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics: Completed.
Background check: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Before I submitted "Biometrics", my BG check used to show -

Background check: We are processing your background check.

But how come after completing biometrics, it shows - "We will send you a message when we start your background check" ?

From processing -> not started. Can someone please clarify?

That status category is highly unreliable. Those IP1/IP2 things are a thing of the past, and many many applicants never see any change at all in BG status until they get PPR. A forum member stated here that his status has been showing "Not Applicable" through the whole process, even after PPR, until it finally showed "approved".

Looks like there is no change at all in my application status since my last post. Online status shows I have 28 days left. Should I still wait or is there any way to ask them what's going on?
