Hi

Hoping someone might be able to give me some advice
I Last year I refused entry to Australia. at first they questioned me on my my previous visa stamps from holidays and then they thought i had drugs on me then when didn't find any they said they believed that i was going to work there and cancelled my visa and put me on the next flight back
they asked numerous stupid questions wanting know about my dogs back home ( which they saw on my iPad) asked how could i be british with dark skin :'( My mother is from the Dominican Republic ) but i was born and brought up in England for the past 39 years :D
They asked about the many stamps that i had in my passport from thailand mexico domincan republic turkey ect but my passport was 9 years old so no reason not to have lots of stamps over the years

I had a tourist visa that was correct and it was my second holiday to Australia
Im a british woman age 39 born in the uk with full british passport ,I had more than enough money on my credit cards to support me over £15,000 sterling for 6 weeks travel

What i would like to know is how would this refusal of entry to Australia affect me if I wanted to have a holiday in Canada at some point as my niece and i were planning a 2 -3 week holiday in canada later this year
I own my own house in the uk and 2 others that i own with my husband and we rent out I'm self employed have a son and husband in the uk . So i have plenty of ties to the uk Im not going to overstay or try to work as i have money to support myself when on holiday .
I know that I'm not required to get a visa as i am from the uk and have a british passport and dont need to apply for a visa to go to canada and i have a new Epassport as my old one only had a year left in it
Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated
thanks

You should post in the Visitors topic in the forum.

Anyways, you need to prove to the customs that you would be a over staying risk in the country you would be visiting i.e Canada and Australia.
