We are family of four - protected persons in Canada (irregular border crosiers).
Me, my wife and my son already became PR as protected persons in Canada. My 2 years old daughter was born in USA (has US citizenship), that`s why she is not recognized as refugee. Her case was separated from ours and looks like her case goes as Family sponsorship: dependent child.
Do you have any idea how long will it take my daughter to become PR in this situation?
Does anyone has similar case?
Moreover, we`d like to apply for travel document for her but there is no document which can be issued to her. She is not recognized as refugee, so RTD not for her.
She has US passport. Actually it's with IRCC, but I can request it back.
There is another problem: after travel she will come back to Canada with US passport as TOURIST! So she'll be allowed to stay here just 6 month. We won't be able to get any health insurance for her.
Even custom may stop us during coming back to Canada.
That's why I need for her some travel document issued by Canada.

She never really qualified for health insurance in the first place since a US citizen was never going to get asylum. She would have lost the health insurance when you became protected people. Canada was nice enough to let her have access to the refugee health program until you were granted asylum. Yes you will need to take out a health policy for emergencies and then pay for regular care. Did you not have a policy after she was rejected for asylum? She would not have had access to the refugee health plan while you applied for PR.

Actually she had Medical Service Plan from BC province, but now we were asked for PR or any status update. There is no issue with her coverage. As dependent child she is allowed to have medical coverage and she does. Even before our hearing she had Federal Health coverage like us and after hearing she got her provincial coverage. You are right that Canada is really nice!
