Dear All,
Please help me with this. I have a question regarding JD for my reference letter. I am a Structural Engineer by profession. There is no separate category in NOC for Structural Engineer so I would have to choose 2131 Civil Engineer, as this is a broad category. I have developed my reference letter with JD, for all my previous employments, appropriate to duties and tasks I used to perform in my previous and current employment. Now does all the tasks listed in NOC for 2131 needs to be exactly matched with JD listed in my reference letters? What if only few of those in my reference letter matches with the tasks and duties listed in NOC. Does it means that i would not be entitled for employment points? Will this cause and trouble at later stage?

I am not sure whether there would be any particular format. Please go through the application guidelines and include all the details listed in it. For JD kindly match around 60 to 70% of what is included in the NOC 2131.
Hope it helps.
Regards

There is no hard and first rule for preparing a reference letter. This is not a test of your writing skills.
You need to make sure that the letter contains the following information:
- Be on a company letter head.
- Signed and dated by an appropriate authority (supervisor/HR).
- Mentions your Designation(s) that you have held within the company.
- Mentions your salary (alternatively you can attach payslips).
- Mentions your total tenure within the company or for the individual roles that you have held (if applicable).
- Mentions your weekly hours of work or full-time/part-time as applicable.
- Mentions your Duties and responsibilities in detail (as much as possible)
Please refer the Document Checklist and the CIC's FSW Application Guide in case I have missed anything.

Hii
I am stuck in a similar situation. I got reference letter from my employer that enlists duties and responsibilities for a structural. I am skeptical that it is a 60% match to noc 2131?
Hope you got your pr.
