Reference Letter - 9 Months old

Hello All,

I am planning to apply for immigration under CEC and gathering all the required documents. I have an employee verification letter from my employer which is 9 months old, actually it was written to Canadian Immigration Officials in India while applying for my wife's visa to prove that she will get adequate health coverage. It says that I am Full time employee and my designation with salary and employment dates.
Just wondering if I can use the same as a reference letter, as I don't want to give any sort of hints to my employer.

Appreciate any suggestions.

You should try to get an up-to-date letter of employment, and make sure that all the information requested (see the Checklist) is in the letter.
