Any help would be truly appreciated.

I have a bank letter very similar to the needed format for POF. It includes more money than required but only a portion of it was deposited in April. Are they going to ask me for source of money for this money? Basically here's whats in the bank...

30,000$ fixed term deposit certificates starting 2013-2014 (this should cover me for the proof of funds for two people and its been sitting in the bank for a few years so I assume there's no problem with that)
20,000$ two fixed term certificates deposited April 2017 (this was deposited by my father as a saving mechanism for me).

Since the latter was deposited less than 6 months ago, shall I get a gift deed for it? I haven't told my father about the travel plans yet, so I would rather not get a gift deed but I'm worried it may create a problem.

Any ideas?

Although this deposit wouldn't impact your POF as your initial balance is sufficient, Would suggest you to explain this using an LOE.
