Thanks in advance for your help with my questions. I have read several of the forums and how CoPR is received seems to vary between types of application. I just want to make sure I’ve understood correctly ...

@canuck_in_uk please could you at my message - you know everything! Thank you!

I am in Canada and a PNP inland applicant via Express Entry, hoping to hear July/August. I am a citizen of a visa exempt country (UK). My status in Canada is as a temporary foreign worker and now on BOWP since May 2020.

(1) If/when my application is approved, I expect I will get an email and a notification letter in MyCIC?

(2) I will not get PPR or need to send my passport anywhere for a visa. Some people from visa-exempt countries have been asked in 2017 to upload photocopy of passport and photos, then courier photos to their Visa office (eg London). I think this must only apply to outland applicants. I do not think I will need to do either of these things?

(3) I just have to wait for the physical CoPR document to be mailed to my address in Canada. Is that right? There’s usually 2 copies (but might only be 1 for inland?).

(4) I already included a digital photo with my application. Do I also need to get physical photos taken as per CIC requirements (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf)? If yes, at what stage will these be needed (eg when actually land at an inland office/POE)? Then it might be better for me to try to get these done in Canada soon in case I need to leave temporarily (see next).

(5) Might it be a problem if I am out of Canada when my application is approved? I think I’ll need to visit family soon to help during COVID. I am legally able to leave/return due to BOWP with eTA and I am an essential worker. But I also read that any work permit (and eTA?) are cancelled when PR is approved. Is that right? Presumably this is not the case and your legal status continues until you land ... so I could still return as a temporary worker, get my paper CoPR and land once this were possible? If not, then I might be able to return as a foreign visitor when pandemic restrictions are lifted. Or would I either have to give IRCC my new correspondence address or ask a friend to collect my paper CoPR and forward to me?

Thank you again!

Actually did find some other relevant forums.

(1) The MyCIC online update and CoPR email should both arrive, though order varies ... perhaps depending on the processing CIC office.

(2) See #4

(3) They have been sending out PDF CoPRs for inland applicants.

(4) Still need to mail 2 photos with photographer stamp, UCI etc (some people were asked for one). Send these to the address provided in the CoPR email.

(5) Still unsure if PR invalidates/supersedes a work permit, such that I wouldn’t be able to return to Canada with this work permit and eTA. Potentially could become PR whilst outside of Canada, receive PDF CoPR by email, send in the necessary photographs and PR card would be sent in the mail to Canada. I’d just have to cross that bridge and potentially apply for PRTD.
