Congratulations and best of luck with the next steps.
Do I understand that Buffalo requests passports from 2008 applicants by email too? I thought only those whose files were transferred to other visa offices are contacted by email to submit documents and passports. It is just that I am used to be contacted by mail only from Buffalo office.

I went yesterday to Buffalo CIC and got my passport stamped with the PR Visa(IMMIGRANT) ;D
Reached the consulate at 7.30 am but there were already 18-20 people before me and mostly to stamp PR Visa as Tuesday's & Thursday's are only days of the week they do PR Stamping in Buffalo, NY.
I was given a number and called for at 8.40 am and submitted the Passport and the copy of the e-mail request with 3 photographs of myself and family members and was asked to write the Height & eye color of all in the same letter, did that and waited to be called back. At 10.30am I was called to the same window and the lady at the counter gave me back the Passports and COPR Documents and she wanted me to check all the information on the Visa & COPR documents, everything was ok and we left at 10.40 am. That was fast.
Next is the Landing formality which I am planning to do next weekend.
