Received a mail stating my application has been updated

I have submitted my application for PR to Canada in the month of August. I got a mail in September listing that my application has been updated, When I checked my messages in the CIC site, it didn't show anything. What does update mean? Also Is there any way to check the status of my application ?

Ghost Update doesn't trigger any email.

A ghost update is usually when you get an email saying there has been a change to your account. When you log in there is no change. This happens a lot when the officer just goes into view your account. You can't see if as there is actually no change.
