Received a call from Canadian Embassy in Islamabad

Just to recap, it has been exactly 1 year since immigration received my application to sponsor my husband from islamabad, pakistan. We received a letter few days ago from the Embassy located in Islamabad asking for additional documents to prove my relationship with my husband. I gathered our phone records, skype logins, our text messages and our western union slips and forwarded to my lawyer who mailed them out today. Last night however, we received a call from the Embassy (to my lawyer and my husband) saying they have been trying to reach us. They told my husband to book an appointment for a new medical test since it has been more than one year since the last one. They provided him with an address and an email address and told him to book an appointment through email. He has emailed them and is waiting for an appointment date.

My question is, does anyone have any experience for a similar situation and if so, can anyone tell me if this is good news? I just wanna know approximately how much longer we will have to wait.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have not gone through Islamabad, but in general, requests for a new medical is good news as it means that they have started working on your file (which is confirmed since they also ask for more documents), and it looks like they are checking different things at the same time (medical validity, relationship history etc.).

Can't tell you how much longer it will be - I don't think anybody can - but at least it's some movement on your file!
