Hello,

My girlfriend is sponsoring me as a common-law partner and she paid the fees online. On the print-off there's a section to be filled in by hand and it asks for a "Client ID"... does anyone know what it is they are asking for?

Thank you kindly,

Shom:-)

Usuallu you get a client Id when they start processing your application. maybe your girlfriend can contact CIC call centre to inquire about that.

Thanks for that:)

But we have yet to send anything off... so shouldn't we NOT have a client ID yet?

This whole thing is terribly confusing:(

I agree you can't have a client number if nothing has been sent yet. I thinlk your girlfriend should call the CIC call centre and tell them about that, and they will advise her accordingly. It is better you contact them before proceeding.

You won't have a client ID until after you get your sponsorship approval. Leave that part blank.

Unless either of you have a client ID from another application in the past, just leave it blank or write N/A in it's place. They know new applicants won't have an ID #, don't worry about it.

Is the Client ID a U followed by 9 numbers? U xxxxxxxxx

My fiance got a visitors visa at the end of 2010 and we're not sure if he has the client id number. It's not on the visa that they put into his passport and he received no other letter from them when he got the visa. This is the only number that we can see. Is that what we're to put there in the application for PR?
