I am from the US and just got married to a Canadian whom will sponsor me soon. If I buy properties for investment purposes in Canada is it considered "working" and would I need a work visa to buy such properties, or would I just be a foreigner purchasing real estate in BC?

Also, I have no idea which is better... to apply for my PR within Canada and live there, or to apply from the US and live there... what are the travel restrictions for both/either of these options?
