If atleast 28 is required to score 6 band then i m fu ck e d. I was running out of time,I missed 8 questions out of 40,even no guess because the passage was damn lenthy and i was stuck.seems like reading section will ruin my other 3 sections which were very good.
I am calculating as per below equation.
If 4 correct answer=1 band
so 24 correct=6 band.
40 correct=9 band (since score is given from 9)
If 5 correct answer=1 band
then to get 9 band one has to score 45,which is almost impossible since total questions are 40.
So in your opinion which formula should be correct?
1) 4 correct=1 band
2) 5 correct=1 band.
The benchmark of each test slightly differs from exam to exam...i believe they are pre-determined....so no scientific formula at work... let's say, if your test was overall difficult....so they would set the marking like this at : 5.5- 23/24/25.... 6.0- 26/27, 6.5 - 28/29, 7.0- 30/31 etc
A guy who scores either 26 or 27 would get the same 6.0 band..... 4 correct answers = 1 band or 5 correct answers= 1 band......formula does not work over here.....this is my opinion.
did you leave those 8 questions as total blank? no guess there? will your total marking start from 32? let's suppose, if u make 6 mistakes overall out of 32....you are still looking at 26 mark...i believe, band 6 is still possible...
Same thing happened with me.I attempted first passage first, which almost took 27 minutes and surprisingly i left 6 questions without answering.even no guess because those 6 questions were specific like write the exact term of given info.so guessing was not possible.lol.i felt like i am stupid. The other 2 passages took 33 minutes to complete and l answered questions confidently.
Any way I will receive my result on 21st,nov. so have to wait.lets see what happens.I will post it here.let's hope for the best.
