Hi all. I want to ask a couple of questions about this form.

(Back story)
I moved from Ireland (where I am a citizen) to Canada on visitor status in November 2015 so I could live with my (Canadian citizen) girlfriend while we finished these forms and waited for PR. A side from the fact that we'll be visiting Ireland in March for a wedding I'm planning on applying to stay in Canada for the entire duration of the application as a visitor. (I already lived in Canada during 2011 - 2013 on working Holiday)

Section 2, question 10 asks, current country of residence? I put Canada and as Visitor from November 2015, but my question is til what date should I enter? Should it be til March when I go to Ireland for the wedding or leave it blank as it is indefinitely/as long as I can?

I assume that you are applying as her Common-Law partner, correct? If so, do you have sufficient proof that you've lived together (somewhere) for at least 365 consecutive days?

Just show the date in March, or the date when your visitor status expires, whichever is longer. Just know that when you leave, your status leaves with you; meaning that you will be assessed again when you seek re-entry into Canada after your trip. Having proof of a sponsorship application submitted would be helpful...hopefully.

You'll need to understand how CBSA deals with those that have a dual intent when seeking entry into Canada:

Thanks Ponga. Yes we are applying common law and have proof of our relationship and how long we've lived together.
When I came over in November the Immigration officer asked me a lot of question but was helpful and if I get someone like her again I should have no problem but ya never know. I will try to have my proof of visa application for whoever gives me a mini interrogation when I come back.

Why are you applying inland .You would be better off applying outland. Much quicker and if for any reason you are denied entry back into Canada your application will continue. You can be in Canada and apply outland.

Hi Taffy, ya I am applying outland. I thought about inland but there seems to be no benefit to me to do that. Outland all the way.

I was also wondering about the no. 3 on the form UCI. I had initially left it blank but seeing as I was here previously on a working holiday visa I was given a Client ID number with that, should I enter that as the UCI or will I be issued a new number when the application is submitted?

Sorry for the repost.

Your UCI will stay the same.
