Hi
I entered Canada as a permanent resident a month ago. I just had an urgent call to go back to my home country in Africa, to sign a property sale papers. My PR had not yet arrived. I have only two(2) weeks to sign these documents, else I will loose everything. Can I re-enter Canada without the PR card? what must I do to come back to Canada if the PR still hasn't arrive? Can I use my landing documents to travel? Will the embassy issue me a visa to travel back to Canada?
I have photo ID from Canada but my daughter (11years) do not have one. Can I travel using the ID in addition to the landing documents?
what should my daughter use, should there be a need for an ID?
Lastly, will the PR be mailed and how long does it take to process?

1. No you can't use your "landing documents" COPR to travel.
2. To return you will need to get a Travel Document from the Visa office serving the area where you will be in Africa. The information and application will be on the office's web site.
3. You need a passport to travel and you daughter as well.
4. The initial PR card takes 56 days after "landing"
